(Beijing, 18 April)  - Comments from Jared Tallent (AUS), Wang Hao (CHN) and Eder Sanchez (MEX) after the men's 20km walk.

Jared Tallent (AUS) - Gold Medallist

On his performance:
"I've been training for four years and today is as a test for the result. What I did is awesome."
"I'm expecting to get a gold medal. We had 3 weeks' training. It's a tough competition, buy I really enjoyed it."

On the course:
"It's good. It's a great course, nice and wide, really good enough for the Olympics."

On his expectation for the Olympic Games:
"Hopefully I'd do that (the result) again. That would be great."

On his opinion about the National Stadium:
"It's a amazing and beautiful place. I enjoyed my time here."

On his teammate, Luke Adams (AUS), quitting the race:
"It didn't affect me at all, and I just focussed on my competition. We trained very well, and I hoped he could get a medal."

On how this fits into the rest of his season:
"This was a good hit out before the World Cup in three weeks. I've still been training hard and have been trying not to peak for this race. I want to peak for the World Cup and the Olympics. But it was good to come here and see what it was all about."

Wang Hao (CHN) - Silver Medallist

On his preparation:
"I have prepared about six months for this test event, so I think fully preparation brings me this good achievement."

On his tactics:
"I just walked at my own pace and I felt excited to participate this event."

On his next event:
"It's a nice venue, and I will come here this July. During the coming days, I still need to improve my walking skills. You know, Chinese walkers have little difference with westerners, so I will do my best in the coming Olympics."

Eder Sanchez (MEX) -  Bronze Medallist

On his performance:
"I'm very happy and excited, although exhausted."

On the difficulties during the race:
"I felt a little bit uncomfortable because of the wet and hot climate here in Beijing. I got sweat in my eyes and my throat felt dry, especially when I covered about 15 kilometres.''

On his goal in the upcoming World Cup in Russia, and the Olympics:
"I'm not so well prepared for today's race, but I'll keep training even harder and hope I can get a better result, maybe the top 10 in Russia, and reach top five in Beijing."

On the adjustment of his training plan the next few months:
"My father is my coach, he's a strict man but influenced me a lot on my way to become an athlete. Today he told me I should try my best to keep up in the first 15 kilometres, and speed up in the last five kilometres. He said that I should quicken my stride from now, and will help me to build a better shape in the next few months."
